CHILD & ADOLESCENT SERVICES
ADULT SERVICES
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
The Children's Central Intake Unit is the gateway into our programs serving children between the ages of 3-17. The intake process begins with referrals via telephone or face-to-face contact and is accomplished by a comprehensive initial evaluation. Consumers and families are then referred to an appropriate service within the agency or to an outside agency.
The Adult Intake Unit is the entry point into adult outpatient services where an initial intake assessment is performed and followed with an evaluation provided by Masters level clinicians and licensed psychiatrists respectively. Adults can also be admitted into various programs by referral from DBH or CBH.
The Educational Services Division's Mission is to provide a safe and structured educational environment where children and adolescents can be nurtured. We bring passion and commitment to the children in our care and understand and appreciate their differences and challenges. We recognize the "diamond in the rough" and seek to resuscitate the resilient spirit within.

Community Council Health Systems provides a range of behavioral health services for abused and troubled children, youth, adults, and their families. The majority of the services are provided through outpatient clinical services, community-based behavioral health rehabilitation services, and school-based services. We provide the following treatment methods as appropriate: diagnostic and evaluation services, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, family psychotherapy, behavior psychotherapy, crisis intervention, psychopharmacological therapy, and case management, including referrals. The Chief Medical Officer or psychiatrist assigned to a particular case supervises all outpatient work. Community Council’s primary facilities are spread over five acres in the city of Philadelphia. The main building is used for administration as well as treatment such as Targeted Case Management, Recovery Paths, and Adult Outpatient Services. The agency has approximately 400 staff members onsite and in community- or school-based locations that serve over 4,000 people each year. We are the first community-based service organization in Philadelphia to implement electronic health records (EHR). Additionally, we are one of the first agencies to use Teleservices to provide behavioral health supports via the web. Teleservices allow us to provide clinical services to populations where there is shortage of behavioral health professionals. In addition, a variety of evidence-based models are incorporated into our services. Examples of these models include: • Recovery and Resiliency • Supported Employment • WRAP • Solution Focused Therapy • W-TREM • Family/Couples Therapy • IMR • Person Focused Therapy • CBT • Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytical Therapy • Motivational Interviewing • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy • Recovery/Resiliency Model • Project Based Learning • Life Skills Curriculum • Stress-Vulnerability Model • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy • Solution Focused Therapy • Person Centered Therapy • Psychodynamic/ Psychoanalytical Therapy • Motivational Interviewing • Play Therapy • Reality Therapy • Corrective Reading • Woodcock • Corrective Math • Key Math • Circle of Courage • Individualized Educational Plans • Language • Lexia
